Nature Walk

Hi There!
I'm so happy to start thinking of spring sewing and just found exactly the fabric line to get me started: Nature Walk by Tamara Kate for Michael Miller Fabrics. This line is not only colorful but fresh and vibrant. I used the ABC panel included in the line to make an ABC Apron knot dress for my little one using Little Lizard King's Apron Knot dress pattern.
I can say this was the best way to display the ABC's and the I still had some letters left for other projects, such as my "R is for receipts" exposed lace zipper pouch made using this tutorial. I loose receipts inside my purse so much that I am now glad to have a place to keep them all organized.
It was a pleasure to use this fabric line. If you get a chance, please enter the sewing challenge taking place at the Michael Miller Blog (Link HERE
Best of luck, hope to see your wonderful creations at the challenge!

Ready for Sommer

Hi There,
Did you hear this year's Groundhog prediction? It looks like we are set for an early spring woohoo! That couldn't make me happier, I am so ready to sew for spring that I actually started early. I absolutely love Sarah Jane's new collection Sommer for Michael Miller Fabrics, and have been making different pieces in anticipation of warmer days ahead.
Some of my favorites for spring and summer casual wear are Brownie Goose's Allie Oop top and Darby Shorts to match.
For a comfortable yet detailed top I made Made for Mermaids Lauren Pintuck shirt, it goes perfect with jeans and leggins and the Pintuck and collar details make the top a super girly addition to any girls wardrobe. I had the privilege of testing the Lauren top and was amazed at how easy it came together. I know the Pintucks may seem intimidating, they are not! A good iron is your best companion in completing this top to perfection.
The Lauren Pintuck top is available HERE .
Here are some photos for some Sommer inspiration:
